Carolin Martin Collins
A native of Houston, Carolin began her career in 1968 at one of the largest newspapers in the Southwest, the Houston Chronicle. Ten years later she joined IBM as a field engineer and through a partnership with inner-city schools, she began tutoring students in math and reading.
A staunch advocate for social, economic and political change and championing against racism, sexism, and classism, she brings over 50 years of letter-writing campaigns, lobbying and demonstrations in an effort to keep major issues affecting women’s lives in the forefront.
Past president of Sun City Theatre, Carolin has been active for over 10 years as production chair, producer and performer. Her favorite rules include Billie in Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill, Esther in Intimate Apparel, Elizabeth in My Friend Elizabeth Keckley and Fonsia in The Gin Game. She is a member of Sun City Chorus.
Carolin and husband Jackie Collins, retired Southern Company vice-president, have owned a home in Sun City for over twenty years.
